Election season is upon us. There is only a scant 6 weeks until the primary election and the general election isn’t far behind that. Chances are you are now being bombarded with commercials on the television and radio, calls to your home, literature stuffed in your mailbox, and maybe even a knock at the door. Given the mood of the country, every politician wants you to believe that they are the fiscally responsible one who favors limited government and loves the Constitution. Unfortunately many politicians have recently reinvented themselves just so they can get re-elected and continue with their wasteful ways once safely back in office. So how do you fight through the smoke and mirrors and find out which candidates really walk the walk on the issues?
The volunteers of the Fox Valley Initiative have been hard at work vetting the candidates. They have been scrutinized through candidate forums, personal interviews, inspection of their voting records, and issue surveys. The results of each have been weighed against the 5 core principles of the Fox Valley Initiative:
1) Limited Government operating within the bounds of the Constitution.
2) Lower taxes and balanced budgets.
3) Protection and preservation of private property rights.
4) A Free Market Economy.
5) Integrity and accountability in our Government.
As a result, the Fox Valley Initiative believes the following candidates most closely embrace our core values and we are proud to endorse them:
Scott Walker for Governor
Scott Walker for Governor
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker has a proven track record of reducing the size of government. Since Walker took office, Milwaukee County’s debt has been reduced by 10% and he has consistently provided budgets every year of his tenure with ZERO increase in Milwaukee County’s tax levy. An advocate of state’s rights, Walker supports Wisconsin’s right to opt out of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act also known as “Obamacare.” In its place, he supports free-market solutions that empower individuals rather than the government. Walker is also proposing reforms that will reign in the out of control spending in Madison such as: starting the state budget at zero, requiring the use of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to balance every state budget, and ending the raids on segregated state funds.
Walker has launched his common sense Brown Bag movement containing tenets consistent with the mission statement of the Fox Valley Initiative:
For these reasons, the Fox Valley Initiative is proud to endorse Scott Walker for Governor of Wisconsin.

Reid Ribble for Congress, 8th District
Reid Ribble for Congress
Reid Ribble is a fine example of the citizen representative compelled to run for office by the recklessness and arrogance of entrenched politicians. He has spent his life to this point in the private sector as an entrepreneur and a volunteer in the community. Ribble has led his roofing company to growth, success, and financial stability and has been selected by his peers to represent them as President of the National Roofing Contractors Association and President of the Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress. Ribble’s volunteerism includes serving as Varsity Volleyball coach at Appleton East High School for over twenty years, Director at WEMI radio, Director and Chairman of the Board of Life Promotions, and serving on the corporate Board of Directors for the Fox Valley YMCA.
Throughout the vetting process Ribble has proven to be a thoughtful and well read candidate. He is a fervent supporter of state’s rights, the 10th Amendment, and the Constitution as a whole. As such, he supports passage of the Enumerated Powers Act which would require all laws passed by Congress to meet Constitutional requirements. As a successful businessman, Ribble knows what it takes to create jobs in the private sector and how to eliminate the government interference currently hindering the free-market with overregulation and high taxes. He supports a repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act also known as “Obamacare" and proposes replacing it with sound reforms such as competition across state lines, portable coverage, and a reduction of frivolous lawsuits.
For these reasons, the Fox Valley Initiative is proud to endorse Reid Ribble for the 8th Congressional District of Wisconsin.

- People create jobs, not government.

Mr.Ribble seems like a great guy and i wish i could vote for him...Wrong district. But we all know it is time for kagen to go. Mr. Walker on the other hand has not won me over yet. My concern with Mr.Walker is i feel he will put his political ambitions ahead of the people of wisconsin. I am afraid he me be another John McCain. He will do what is in his best interest, even if he feels that is the opposite of what is best for our state. I am afraid he will start running for higher office the day after he becomes governor. Do not get me wrong, He would be 1000 times better than Barret, but i am afraid he is a R.I.N.O. I will stick with Neumann for now....
Mr.Walker needs to convince me that he will be on the side of the HARD WORKING,TAX PAYING, LAW ABIDING,PATRIOTIC, PEOPLE OF WISCONSIN EVERYDAY...NOT EVERY OTHER DAY..
Thank you for confirming what I thought. Saw that Marc Savard has dropped and is also endorsing Mr. Ribble. Throw the bums out!
I used to live in Milwaukee County. Scott Walker is the real deal. If there is any hope for having less government, lower taxes and a balanced budget in Wisconsin it will be with Scott Walker as Governor and not Mark Neumann! Also, I just put up my "Ribble for Congress" yard sign. I would ask all to not only support Reid with their vote, but with a donation as well.
More and more, Americans are realizing that we have very little time left to start turning our country around and get control of our out-of-control government. Every thinking person should be very fearful for our future, and they should turn that fear into action. Let's get everybody we know to the FVI August 11 meeting, sign up to volunteer and get to work for the many good candidates we are fortunate to have this election! The future of free America depends on it.
Mark,
Do you live in Tom Petri's District? If you do than you should be able to vote for Ribble who lives in Sherwood and only just recently "moved" into an apartment in the 8th District so that his run for the 8th didn't look so sketchy.
My question is this--how can an organization that claims to uphold conservative values endorse a candidate who spent years lobbying for amnesty with the NRCA (National Roofing Contractor's Association)?
From an interview when Ribble was NRCA President:
Ribble said "Issues pertaining to the work force will get worse before they get better. There is temptation in Congress to tighten up our borders and limit the flow of immigrants into this country, yet almost half of our work force is from outside the U.S. We have to find some reasonable solutions to this issue."
Good Job Steineke, you have endorsed a Liar for Congress (http://partyofknow.org/will-the-real-ribble-please-stand-up). Ribble's website says he is for enforcing Illegal Immigration laws but when he was President of the Roofing Contractors Association, he pursued supporting the Kennedy-McCain Amnesty Bill.
Scott Walker is a career politician who has lived off the public feeding trough his entire career. Newt Gingrich and Jeb Bush endorsed Walker, another red flag. Walker has also voted against concealed carry twice. Another loser. Mark Neumann gets my vote who stood up to the Republicans that fraudulently sold away our jobs in the NAFTA bill.
I am delighted that the Fox Valley Initiative has endorsed Reid Ribble. I have met him several times and wish all candidates for public office were more like him. He has intelligent well-thought-out answers to every question, respect for all that show up to see him, and really listens and responds with political passion to what is being considered. I haven't noticed the typical political platitudes in his discussions of the issues. He is a worker and looks great in work clothes. He has stamina. He is easily understood.
Mark Neumann impresses me, He has conservative political passion. I want to see if it is possible for your organization to elaborate on the factors that led you to choose Scott Walker over Mr. Neumann. What is your opinion of Mark's downloadable online book?
I am of the opinion that they are both excellent (superior) candidates for the office and that the Demos did the very best they could, on their side (no opposition!). I am also very impressed and delighted to have met in Green Bay with the mayor of Superior , Dave Ross,a completely superior candidate, who is running for Lt.Gov. of Wisconsin.
I will thank Marc Savard for his crucially important ongoing influence on the conservative movement. I am proud of the way he has brought dignity and insight to the Tea Party line of individual thinking here in Northeastern Wisconsin. Like in football, he brings depth to the conservative political teams in our area.
Well, now we know the truth: The "Fox Valley Initiative" is not a Tea Party group at all, but is run by the same establishment folks who got us into this mess.
