Lets bring conservative values back into Appleton's schools, city & county!

For decades we have seen a gradual decline in our public schools with regard to academics, traditional moral values, and a lack of respect for students constitutional rights.  This was most recently high lighted in Shawano, WI, where Brandon Wegner, a 15 year old boy fulfilled an assignment by his debate teacher to deal with the issue of adoption of children by homosexuals.  Brandon took the position that this was wrong and cited studies supporting his position along with citing Bible passages.  Brandon was then charged with being a bully by the Shawano District Administrator with a law passed by Gov. Doyle.  He was threatened with expulsion if he refused to retract his article.  Brandon refused!  Liberty Counsel, a nationally respected law firm has come to Brandon's defense.

So what does this mean to you, our families and to Appleton?  It means that we have been given a wake up call.  The battle over whether our children shall be denied their constitutional rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion is now upon all of us.  What happened at Shawano is coming to Appleton, WI, and we had best prepare for it now.  How do we do that?  First we need to elect people to the Appleton Area School District Board that understand the importance of first amendment rights for students in our schools as well as the need to fight for moral values and solid academics.

We have the opportunity to elect to the Appleton School Board a solid Christian married man with two young children who will fight for these values.  His name is John Devantier.  We need to start the transition to the values we want taught to our children by electing John Devantier to the Appleton School Board in this springs election.  If you want to meet John or talk with him then come to a meeting at Jonathon's Bistro at 1910 N. Casaloma Dr. on THURSDAY February 23rd.  The meeting will run from 5 - 7pm.  Please RSVP to melissadevantier@hotmail.com or call 954-6123 if you plan to attend.

We have another person of the same background and values running for the Menasha School District Board who we also need to support.  His name is Justin Duell.  Justin has recently returned home from Iraq and understands the changes needed in our schools.  Justin is currently employed in the financial investments industry and will bring a sharp pencil to the board among other things.   He needs our support and votes!

Here are SIX other local candidates we would encourage you to support and vote for in the upcoming elections:  (1)  Howard Miller, Outagamie County Board of Supervisors, (2) Tom Goehler running for district 12 alderman in Appleton, (3) Tom Van Susteren running for district 2 alderman in Appleton, (4) Brian Farmer, Outagamie County Supervisor, (5) Chuck Schmidt, Outagamie County Supervisor, (5) Mike Thomas, Outagamine County Supervisor and (6) Mark Rahmlow, Outagamie County Supervisor.

The above are solid conservative candidates who need our support and votes!

"Occupy Appleton" Now In Our Appleton Schools

On Monday, Nov. 28th, at the Appleton School Board meeting a parent complained that Occupy Appleton had been allowed to make a presentation at the Roosevelt Middle School.  When the Occupy Appleton group got through they had our middle students chanting, "Democracy Now!"  What do they think we have now?

More and more as we look at our school system we see the use of students by the educational establishment for its political interests.  This spring we say high school students taken to Madison to demonstrate with their teachers opposing Gov. Walker's new budget changes.  Recently in Mehasha we had middle school elementary students in front of their school asking people to sign "Recalll Gov. Walker" petitions.  Now we have the Occupy people going right into our Appleton schools and being allowed to plant their political ideology in the minds of our children - all with the blessing of our educators.  When are we as taxpayers going to take action to stop this and insist that our teachers and school administrators do what they were hired to do, i.e., teach students how to become excellent in reading, writing and mathematics.  No matter what public school district you are in our school standards have been dropping for years and at the same time we see things that never were allowed in our schools in the past.  Things like Bible out and same sex marriage in, no prayer but more and more demonstrating especially against those who believe in the traditions that made our country great.  Some schools you can't even wear something that says "God" on it or "God Bless America", nothing religious, especially Christian.  Our founding fathers, President Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Rush, plus many others including even Ben Franklin stated repeatedly that religion and virtue were a necessity for our republican form of governmnet and that without them our system of government would collapse.

The Fox Valley Initiative urges all readers to call both the Principal of Roosevelt School, Al Brant at 832-6294 and Lee Allinger, Superintendent of AASD at 832-6126 asking them the following questions;  how did this happen, who initiated this, which teachers / grades were involved in this assembly, how long ago was this planned, why weren't parents notified, who were the the Occupy Appleton presenters, was this event video taped or recorded, were any of the teachers involved affiliated with the Occupy Appleton organization and last, what is the policy that controls who can come into the schools and present a program like this?  You may not wish to use all these questions but the more the better.  If you get a response let FVI know what it was and spread the news!
