Help Scott Walker, signature verification

Good Afternoon,

I hope this e-mail finds you well. As we approach the signature verification stage of the campaign, Victory Centers across the state will hold a training session for prospective volunteers who wish to help us verify signatures on recall petitions. At the Appleton Victory Office, this training will be held on Monday, January 16th at 6PM. The address of the Appleton Victory Office is 5583 Waterford Lane, Suite D, Appleton, WI 54913.

We hope to have as many people present as possible in hopes of answering many of the common questions and concerns as a group instead of individually. In order to be as efficient and effective as possible, we will be sticking to a strict block schedule (9AM-12PM, 12PM-3PM, 3PM-6PM and 6PM-9PM) during the signature verification process so we can manage the flow of people.

I hope you can assist me by getting the word out about the training and the need for volunteers to review the petitions submitted by those who wish to recall Governor Walker.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Jon Schmieder
Northeast Regional Victory Director

Welcome to the Fox Valley Initiative State Issues Committee!

The state issues committee has been working to evaluate all of our state legislators. We will be doing this by examining their voting record. The first step in this process is to identify specific legislation that has gone through the state legislature. Next we examine the legislation and determine the conservative constitutional position and then score the legislators by how they voted according to our position.

We will also provide education on specific issues. It is important for people to know what issues are being taken up in our state legislature and how they will affect our daily lives. As we have gone around the valley talking with people it is surprising the number of people that do not realize what the state legislature does.

Our evaluation of legislation and legislators will be guided by support for the following principles:

  •  Less government and more individual and family responsibility
  •  Decentralization of political power within the state
  •  True federalism and state sovereignty under the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

If you are interested in being part of this committee please contact Howard Miller or David Stertz at our next meeting.

Interesting facts about our state:

  •  Our current 2011-13 state budget $66,055,627,900
  •  2011-13 first budget in 16 years that does not have a structural deficit
  •  Federal revenue is 28.9% of the 2011-13 budget
  •  Bond for 2011-13 $1,731,700,900 this is down 52% from 2009-11 budget
  •  2010 population of Wisconsin 5,686,986
  •  State spending $5,807 per person per year
